Amydrium zippelianum Variegated is an extraordinary rarity in the aroid world. The standard zippelianum produces impressive, fenestrated (naturally holey) dark green leaves that develop pinnate lobing as the plant matures. The variegated form overlays these already spectacular leaves with irregular cream, white, or pale yellow variegation—creating a visual combination that is genuinely breathtaking. Extremely limited in cultivation.
LIGHT: Bright indirect light is essential. The variegated sections contain less chlorophyll, requiring brighter conditions than the standard form.
WATER: Allow the top inch to dry between waterings. This climbing aroid prefers a well-draining epiphytic mix (bark, perlite, coco coir).
HUMIDITY: 60–80%. Benefits from a moss pole or climbing support, which also helps maintain humidity around aerial roots.
FERTILIZER: Balanced fertilizer every 2–4 weeks in active growth. Dilute to half strength for this rare variety.
TEMPERATURE: 65–85°F. Keep away from cold drafts.
TOXICITY: Toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.
