Anthurium regale

Anthurium regale is considered the king of velvet-leaf Anthuriums. Native to Peru, it produces some of the largest leaves of any houseplant—enormous, heart-shaped, deep forest-green velvety leaves (potentially 4+ ft long in mature specimens) with breathtaking bright white to silvery venation. Grown to full size, it is one of the most impressive plants a collector can own.LIGHT: Bright indirect light is essential for supporting the enormous leaf production. Insufficient light severely limits growth and leaf size.WATER: Allow top 1–2 inches to dry between waterings. Despite the large leaf size, regale is susceptible to root rot—use an extremely well-draining, chunky aroid mix (bark, perlite, sphagnum blend).HUMIDITY: 65–85%. High, consistent humidity is critical for the development of the enormous, velvety leaves. A humidifier is strongly recommended.FERTILIZER: Balanced or slightly nitrogen-heavy fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the growing season to support vigorous, large-leaf growth.TEMPERATURE: 65–85°F; consistent warmth is essential.
