Verrucosum is velvet drama with fuzzy petioles and richly veined leaves that feel almost theatrical. It is one of those philodendrons that plant people clock immediately.
Verrucosum can be more humidity-sensitive than easier philodendrons, so it usually does best with warmth, airflow, and a moss pole or support.
LIGHT: Bright indirect light; the velvety leaf surface needs protection from direct sun.
WATER: Allow top 1–2 inches to dry. Well-draining aroid mix; very susceptible to root rot.
HUMIDITY: 65–85%; this cloud forest species demands high humidity for best results.
FERTILIZER: Balanced fertilizer every 2–4 weeks in growing season.
TEMPERATURE: 65–85°F; prefers consistent, moderate warmth without extremes.
TOXICITY: Toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.
